2nd Anniversary CCPA


ATTENDEES: 200 people – By Invitation Only.

KEYNOTE: Ms. Carol Layton, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Immigration and Citizenship. The Deputy Minister presented CCPA’s Courage and Solidarity Awards to Jose Prado, who lost his arms ten years ago. The CCPA undertook a humanitarian campaign to raise funds to acquire the electronic components for his prosthetic arms.

HIGHLIGHTS: 1. The CCPA presented a cheque for $31,614.57, to be used to purchase the electronic components for Jose’s prosthesis arms.

2. Progress report on purchase of the electronic components of the basic prosthesis for Jose Prado.

Committee comprised of Dr. Alex Jadad, Catalina Chaux-Echeverry and Pedro Galvis.

3. Launch of the “Directory of Services for the Hispanic Community”

4. Draw of a pair of tickets to Cuba – Courtesy of Martour and American Airlines, won by Pat Langan-Torell
